Nationwide UK home care agency, Guardian Angel Carers, has launched a recruitment campaign to invite passionate home carers to join locally managed care teams.
An award-winning, nationwide home care agency, Guardian Angel Carers, has launched a recruitment campaign to invite skilled, conscientious, and passionate home carers to join locally managed care teams to meet growing demand.
Guardian Angel Carers, recognised as a Top 20 UK Home Care Group in the 2021 Homecare Awards, operates on a homecare franchise model with varied and diverse positions open to eligible applicants.
The business has over a decade of experience and currently operates across 14 franchises, with services ranging from specialist and live-in care services, personal care, and companionship support.
Guardian Angel Carers Career Opportunities
Roles open to interested applicants vary between locations and include:
· Home care positions with part-time and full-time hours
· Live-in, daytime, weekend, and evening care jobs
· Management and supervisory roles in care coordination
· Care assistant positions and loneliness companions
Positions also include guaranteed hours contracts, where applicants are looking for home care jobs with confirmed pay, regular schedules, client continuity and long-term security.
The business offers pay rates well above average, alongside paid holidays, access to a workplace pension, and in some cases, six-monthly and annual bonuses and referral schemes.
Carers joining the CareAngels team receive paid training to achieve a formal Care Certificate, AA breakdown cover, assistance working towards more advanced health and social care qualifications or NVQs, full induction training, and employee discounts facilitated through the Blue Light Card scheme.
Vikki Craig-Vickers, Head of Operations, said, “Our core values guide everything we do, including how we treat our colleagues, clients, and each other. We are friendly, reliable, and compassionate and have a strong focus on the quality and value of the care we provide.
Guardian Angel Carers wants everyone who works within our teams to reach their full potential and feel rewarded and valued.”
Recruitment processes are locally managed by franchise owners, and bonuses and other additional forms of remuneration may vary between branches.
UK-Wide Home Care Vacancies With Competitive Pay and Benefits
As a private, fully regulated organisation, Guardian Angel Carers has experienced a fast pace of growth as more families and individuals seek exceptional quality home care, often as an alternative to costly residential care, or to allow them the freedom to continue living independently at home.
From April 2023, National Living Wage will increase to £10.42 for adults aged 23 and above. Band 1 NHS workers, based on the current pay deal and with ongoing trade union negotiations notwithstanding, earn a basic rate of £10.37 per hour – with the current recommended 3.5% pay deal increasing that rate to £10.73.
Band 2 care workers categorised as healthcare assistants or more experienced domestic support workers start at a rate of £10.37 per hour. They may be eligible for pay progression after two years of service. The top rate on this scale is currently £10.90 per hour, which could rise to £11.45 if the proposed pay deal is accepted.
However, rising living costs mean that public sector and NHS staff have been leaving the profession in record numbers amid strikes and ongoing disruption.
In contrast, Guardian Angel Carers offers a current weekday pay rate starting from £12.50 per hour, with an uplift to £13.50 on weekends, depending on the position and location. Skilled posts and managerial positions may offer higher salaries or pay rates.
Home carers also receive enhanced pay rates on bank holidays and an array of paid training opportunities, support with professional qualifications, paid mileage, and other perks.
Training and Qualifications for Home Care Applicants
Professional certifications can be time-consuming and are often a barrier for individuals with the nature, skills and qualities that make them ideal candidates for the home care sector.
Guardian Angel Carers has a comprehensive range of training options, enabling newly qualified or less experienced carers to receive paid induction training, a formal Care Certificate, and access to ongoing training through the Continued Professional Development initiative.
Progression opportunities include working towards an NVQ 1 or 2, with support from branch managers, in-house training, and monthly meetings to learn, reflect and engage with other members of the local CareAngels team.
The company seeks candidates whose values are consistent with the brand ethos based on person-centred care. It can support new applicants looking to develop a home care career, with access to a vehicle and a full driving licence an advantage for community-based care roles.
Vacancies are currently open to applicants across the following areas:
· London and the South East: Banstead, Guildford, Mid Sussex, Wimbledon, Reading and Shepperton home care jobs
· North England: York
· Wales: Cardiff
· South England: Chichester, Bognor Regis, Eastleigh, Fareham and Farnham
· East Midlands: Lincoln
