Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute (SPI), announces new program: Sensorimotor Psychotherapy for the Treatment of Trauma, for participants in regions that fall into the Eastern Time Zone (ETZ)
Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute (SPI), an international provider of trauma training and certification programs, has announced a new Level 1 program, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy for the Treatment of Trauma, for participants in regions that fall into the Eastern Time Zone (ETZ).
The training begins on September 13, and following demand from participants and trainees for previous programs hosted in alternative regions, places are filling up fast.
The Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute is a professional global organization offering high-level trauma training to a worldwide network of registered, certified mental health practitioners. Level 1 training is designed for attendees new to Sensorimotor Psychotherapy or extending their professional knowledge and practice areas.
Professional Training Available Via the Sensorimotor Psychotherapy for the Treatment of Trauma Program
The Level 1 training includes tuition and practical learning, ensuring participants understand the applications of Sensorimotor Psychotherapy and can use this within their professional practices or expand their formal study or development in their selected field.
Attendees can access live webinar sessions, self-guided online education, and interactive modules hosted and facilitated by acclaimed trauma therapist and SP Lead Trainer Jennifer Gardner, MA, LICSW, CST. Upon completing the training, participants can claim 39 Continuing Education credits.
Sensorimotor Psychotherapy is an advanced modality used in trauma treatment. The principles focus on the impact of trauma on the body and how bodily movement and somatic interventions can provide clients with an understanding of their trauma symptoms and responses.
The training is designed to educate participants on the interventions necessary to identify and work with disruptive bodily patterns, how to support and stabilize clients through a phased approach, and how addressing the physiological as well as the cognitive and emotional outcomes of trauma can assist with symptom reduction and the restoration of a somatic sense of self.
Sensorimotor Psychotherapy as a modality works differently but often in conjunction with other talking therapies and can be used to augment and evolve the approaches available to mental health practitioners while being adapted to the symptoms and nature of trauma each client is experiencing.
Advantages of Attending the Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute’s SP for the Treatment of Trauma Training
This latest program is one of the flagship introductory educational training developed by the Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute.
Intended for participants working in or studying psychotherapy or mental health professions, the training is split into diverse formatting with pre-published dates for all live sessions, improving accessibility for attendees with busy practices or schedules.
SPI Founder Dr. Pat Ogden says, 'Level 1 training programs attract a diverse, engaged audience. This variety of participants, from every subsector and specialism across the therapeutic and mental health field, brings together a group that benefits from discussions, thought sharing, and networking, facilitated through our live sessions and facilitators.
We advise interested participants to reserve their spots as soon as possible to avoid disappointment and to ensure they have noted all the live training dates and times.
Full attendance is the best way to extract maximum value from your learning and the extensive expertise of our Lead Trainer and support colleagues. It is also necessary to claim the full number of CE credits.
Whether you have been working in trauma treatment for many years or are new to somatic movement therapies, we invite you to register today and learn how this modality can enrich, inform, and educate your clinical practice and provide additional therapeutic support to trauma clients.’
